  • Do you want to be rewarded for your efforts?
  • Do you want to make great new friends?
Then take the MBF Healthy Lifestyle Challenge and register for Palmlesstonnes 2008.

Palmlesstonnes is a fun and friendly community challenge aimed at helping the Palmerston community to lose a collective weight of one tonne.

This fantastic community challenge was launched in 2006 with overwhelming success.

"The Palmlesstonnes program has been a lifesaver for me. It provided me with the incentive to do what I know I needed to do in terms of changing my eating habits permanently and increasing the amount of exercise I did. During the 12 weeks of the program I lost almost 15kg and about 16cm from around the waist. . Since the end of the program I have continued to lose weight." (2006 Palmlesstonnes participant)

Highlights of the 2008 program include:

  • regular guided walks
  • exercise sessions led by professional instructors
  • interactive sessions such as supermarket tours and cooking classes
  • weekend special events such as bike rides
  • water fun days
  • Sunday walks followed by a healthy breakfast
  • a great closing party to celebrate your participation and achievement
Weekly weigh-in sessions will help keep you motivated, whilst your blood pressure will be checked periodically for your record. There is something in the program to suit YOU - whether young or old, male or female, fit or not so fit. All exercise sessions are designed so people can work at their own pace.

Palmlesstonnes 2008 will run in two 5 week blocks, starting 18th February and 14th April, with a finish date of 18th May. You can download the program at the bottom of this page. There are plenty of prizes on offer to keep you motivated throughout the program, but you have to be in it to win it. You could win an amazing two return airfares from Darwin to Broome courtesy of Airnorth! Registration costs $30 and includes a dri-fit singlet and registration bag with discount vouchers and other surprises.
